LEAD

The second tier in our three pronged approach is MedLead, or mentorship. To support the knowledge gained from our workshops, this component implements a mentorship program and networking program to help students cultivate long-lasting connections. In STEM, mentorship is proven to be effective in accomplishing one's academic and career goals and supporting students from underrepresented groups. Depending on the age of the student, mentors would range from undergraduate students to medical school faculty and would be matched specifically to the needs and interests of the student. The mentor's role is to help the student establish meaningful connections, provide insight on anything from essay writing to interviews, and guide the mentee in developing the confidence and skillset they seek in pursuing a career in healthcare.
